Naga Youth Organization – Burma (NYO-B) has reiterated that stood by it report which was published in October 2010 titled \u201cLife under military rule: Human Rights Violations of Nagas in Burma\u201d. The report attempted to highlight sufferings and struggle of Naga people; religious persecution in Naga areas; displacement within Naga areas; violence against Naga women by the Burmese military regime, health care and educational system in the Naga areas; and illegal conscriptions and encroachment by the Burmese military regime into Naga areas. Member of NYO-B S. Solomon Theibung stated the report was an attempt to highlight Naga\u2019s plight under the Burmese military regime, which went unnoticed and unreported during the past 48 years of military junta. NYO-B reiterated its report that \u201cAll accounts of the various human rights violations perpetrated on the Nagas could not be fully presented as there were too many. However he said the report would give an overview of the travails of the Nagas in Burma. NYO-B further stated the report does not at all claim to be a comprehensive one on the situation of Nagas in Burma; but was only the tip of an iceberg. \u201cThere are lot more information \/data which are more serious in nature but could not be documented due to difficulties in movement in the Naga areas\u201d, stated NYO-B and that its members were under constant surveillance and threat from Burmese military regime. Apart from collecting first hand information of incidence and cases, secondary information was also used, and few other reports and books were referred to supplement the information, NYO-B added. <\/p>\n
