When the entire country is debating over the issue of back black money, expert economist felt that best option was to freeze those bank accounts in foreign countries where the black money from India are stashed. \u201cThe important thing is to freeze those bank accounts where the black money is stashed so the owners do not have the access,\u201d said Dr. Kaushik Basu, chief economic advisor, union ministry of finance. He was replying to a query put up by state chief secretary Lalthara during the workshop on \u2018Indian Economy and Economic Survey\u2019 organized by Exim Bank here Monday. Lalthara, in his special address, raked up the issue by sharing his opinion on the demand of Baba Ramdev and provoked the economic expert by asking which options would be better – bringing black money back to the country, burnt them up or freeze the accounts. Dr. Basu, however, refused to comment on the proposition of burning the money saying it was a very sensitive issue as everybody uses money.<\/p>\n
