Imchen’s statements on the 16 Point Agreement and chief minister Rio’s assertion on the Naga political issue, the NPF through its press bureau, central office claimed that the NPCC has through its statements on June 9 and previous others, served to confirm that for the Congress, statehood “is a full stop” as far as the Naga political issue was concerned. NPF claimed that the NPCC reiterated that there was nothing beyond statehood, therefore, “all the ongoing political activities are nothing but mere law & order issue.” It said the reason why the NPCC was angered with chief minister Rio and home minister Imchen was because both stood firm on the “Naga political issue which is so allergic and in complete contrast to the NPCC.” Further, NPF said it was known to every Naga that the NPCC held those who “stand for the Naga issue” as its “enemy number one”. It said Congress took pride in bringing statehood over sovereignty “after betraying the Naga nationalist under the banner of Naga National Council” but “never realized” that by signing for statehood, “they have brought disgrace to the Naga people.” On the NPCC’s contention that those elected and who have sworn allegiance to the Indian constitution should quit the assembly, NPF said the Congress demand for dismissal of Imchen by the Governor was “because of their ill-gotten agreement.” NPF accused Congress of bringing president’s rule in January 2008 “by unfair means” and even after “crossing all political morality and fair play” was “defeated handsomely” in the ensuing election in 2008. NPF claimed the NPCC has no hope for the next general election after a series of defeats inflicted “by the patriotic forces of the NPF” and now even the AICC has cold shouldered a divided and shattered NPCC. It advised the NPCC to do a reality check to ascertain its position and feel the pulse of the people as its “stagnant policy” cannot reframe the term of the Naga political issue after having “back stabbed the people from the NPC days.”

For More Updates, follow us on

 and

Taking on the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee over the issue of home minister Imkong L.
