Inauguration of DAO office cum rodent management campaign was held Thursday at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall Kiphire with A.Y Ovung, director of agriculture Nagaland Kohima as chief guest. Speaking at the opening program of DAO office Kiphire, chief guest thanked the department for organizing the program and said public should cooperate in executing the developmental work in the district. He also appealed the public to render service to the new DAO and further revealed the proposal for setting up SDAO at Seyochung town was in the process. Deputy commissioner Kiphire C.M Tsanglao who also spoke at the program, thanked the government for making the DAO office in Kiphire district full-fledged. He also urged the department for creation of SDAO office in Pungro and Seyochung town under Kiphire district, and said Kiphire has lot of potential for producing kholar, maize and fruits etc. The program was chaired by Renbomo Ngullie DAO Kiphire and vote of thanks by Dr. Akashe Zhimomi Dy.Project Director (ATMA) The technical session on rodent management campaign in agriculture was held with N. Thungjamo Lotha, deputy director agriculture Nagaland as resource person. He said rodent issue was not a district or state issue but a national issue witnessing ill affect to the crops that also transmit bacteria to humans. N.
