United Naga Council (UNC), Manipur has served an ultimatum to the government of India urging the latter to hold tripartite talk within June 30, failing which, it said: \u201cwe wish to submit in all humility that Nagas in Manipur shall no longer participate in the exercise on tripartite talk.\u201d The UNC, in an ultimatum addressed to the Union home minister P. Chidambaram, reminded that its letter dated May 29 last had sought his \u201cdecisive and expeditious intervention\u201d to save the process of tripartite dialogue from imminent derailment. However, UNC said no response\u2013 positive or otherwise\u2013 has been received from the government. \u201cYou would kindly recall that the 3rd round of tripartite talk scheduled on the May 30, 2011 entirely on your intervention was abruptly cancelled in the garb of deferment for absolutely no justifiable reason,\u201dUNC reminded the home minister. It went on to assert that only one thing that stood out beyond any shadow of doubt was the \u201cunbriddled arrogance and sheer irresponsibility\u201d on the part of Manipur government and the union government \u201cas evidenced in and through the GOI\u2019s letter D.O. No. 8\/8\/2008-NE.1 dated May 28, 2011.\u201d The UNC underlined that Nagas in Manipur \u201cfeel called upon to take on the challenge placed before us \u2013 the challenge being \u2018to take our struggle to free ourselves from the hegemonic and colonial rule of the GoM\u2019 forward at whatever cost howsoever painful.\u201d Therefore, the UNC said that if the process of tripartite talk failed, all responsible should know that Nagas were not to blame for \u201cwe have done our utmost in deference to your wish and advice.\u201d <\/p>\n
