{"id":105903,"date":"2016-06-21T22:53:15","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T22:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/06\/21\/technology-to-reduce-benzene-in-petrol-developed\/"},"modified":"2016-06-21T22:53:15","modified_gmt":"2016-06-21T22:53:15","slug":"technology-to-reduce-benzene-in-petrol-developed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/06\/21\/technology-to-reduce-benzene-in-petrol-developed\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology to reduce benzene in petrol developed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>An indigenous technology to restrict benzene, a carcinogenic element, in petrol and naphtha has been developed in collaboration with the state-run Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) in Dehradun, the Reliance Industries (RIL) said on Tuesday. \u201cIn a major technological and scientific breakthrough, the RIL and IIP have come up with an indigenous Benzene Recovery Unit (BRU) which restricts benzene content to 0.2 volume per cent in raffinate (return stream to gasoline),\u201d the RIL statement said here. \u201cRIL did the construction and the flawless commissioning of the new process named BRU.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe RIL-IIP have filed a joint patent for the process to create a strong Intellectual Property (IP) and \u2018freedom to operate\u2019 assurance,\u201d it added. The developers are receiving many enquiries for licensing the technology, the statement said.
