{"id":106889,"date":"2016-06-12T23:40:29","date_gmt":"2016-06-12T23:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/06\/12\/implement-nrc-to-check-ibis-thomas\/"},"modified":"2016-06-12T23:40:29","modified_gmt":"2016-06-12T23:40:29","slug":"implement-nrc-to-check-ibis-thomas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/06\/12\/implement-nrc-to-check-ibis-thomas\/","title":{"rendered":"Implement NRC to check IBIs: Thomas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Independent MLA, Thomas Ngullie has urged the state government to implement National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Nagaland so as to effectively control the growing population of the Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants (IBIs) in the state.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Interacting with the media persons on Sunday, MLA Ngullie said if the state government was serious about checking the illegal influx of Bangladeshi immigrants then it should immediately implement NRC effectively.<\/div>\n<div>Citing that Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants (IBIs) was a direct threat to the future of the Nagas, Ngullie said the rise in their population was a bigger threat which should checked with all sincerity. The former minister held the Congress government in the past as \u201cresponsible to a great extend\u201d for the rise in Bangladeshi Immigrants. He declared that his constituency was free from any suspected IBI voters. He said, \u201cthe future of Nagas is more important than me becoming an MLA\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>Ngullie informed that the Central government was ready to assist the state in any possible way to help implement NCR in the state.<\/div>\n<div>Taking a jibe at the state government on the Indo-Naga political issue, Ngullie questioned the sincerity of the state government as to why the Framework Agreement was still not taken forward although it was signed sometime back.<\/div>\n<div>He said it was a crucial time for the Nagas as they need a strong leader to take the Framework Agreement and turn it into a reality.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>On the developmental front, Ngullie said the government had no developmental activity or programmes for the people.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Lamenting over the halfhearted attitude of the people, the MLA said the citizens were just being mute spectators even though they could see the total breakdown in governance. &nbsp;Ngullie alleged that there had been a huge discrimination in allocation of funds for development and that no funds were allocated to his constituency except those that comes from the Local Area Development Funds (LADF).<\/div>\n<div>The independent legislator disclosed that the ongoing tussle within the NPF party had left a fear psychosis which was in total control of the situation. He said the government was maintaining different standards for different MLAs and parliamentary secretaries.<\/div>\n<div>Exclaiming surprise at the lack of discipline in the present government, Ngullie said, \u201cI\u2019ve never seen such indiscipline in my 35 years of political career\u201d.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>On T.R.
