Acharya has said that educationally empowered people should emerge as job givers and not job seekers and likewise achievers should not be self centred but share the fruits with people and society.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Acharya was speaking at a function for presentation of the Governor\u2019s Award to toppers and felicitation of rank holders of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2016 at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.<\/div>\n<div>Governor congratulated students for their achievements and the teachers, school management and parents, who toiled, guided and supported their students and children. He also appreciated NBSE and department of school education for setting high standards.<\/div>\n<div>Governor said the result of HSLC and HSSLC examination proved that Nagaland was second to none in terms of education.<\/div>\n<div>Reiterating the importance of education and employability, he said that the two \u201cEs\u201d (employment and education) should be revolutionary progress of the state. He also suggested making educational system of the state a job oriented one.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Acharya said Nagaland has lots to offer for advancement and development of the state and country to progress like in natural wealth, solar energy, organic products, bamboo, forests, handloom, handicrafts etc.<\/div>\n<div>Lamenting the commercialisation of education by private schools\/colleges in the state, the governor said the mindset of the people needed to be changed in this regard.<\/div>\n<div>He also expressed concern over the poor performance of the government schools in the state though the government spent huge amount on education.<\/div>\n<div>Challenging the gathering to ponder over serious issues like proxy teachers, corruption, insincerity, students going out for better education and others, the governor further appealed to the educationists, stakeholders, concerned officers at society at large to seriously think over it.<\/div>\n<div>He said schools and colleges should not be only institutions for education but also be centred for development of the society. He reminded that every individual was an asset and not burden to the society.<\/div>\n<div>Commissioner and secretary school education &amp; SCERT, F.P. Solo, in his address said it was a proud moment for the parents, teachers, schools and society because of the younger achievers who secured top position through their sheer hard work.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He reminded the students that securing top positions was not the end but beginning of the journey to realise their full potential in life.<\/div>\n<div>Solo advised them that their goal should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and testable.<\/div>\n<div>NBSE chairman Asano Sekhose, in her welcome address, said the beauty of competition was that there was no limit to the dreams and aspirations as long as they continued to work hard with determined will and application.<\/div>\n<div>She also challenged the toppers to emulate their remarkable achievements and excel in their studies in the years to come.<\/div>\n<div>The function was chaired by Dr. Kevileno Sakhrie, Queen Mary HSS Mokokchung principal Fr. Paul Yanthan said the invocation prayer while special songs were presented by students of GHSS Seikhazou and Pranab Vidyapith HSS Dimapur.<\/div>\n<div>Governor gave away awards and certificates to all the toppers of HSLC and HSSLC. Toppers from HSLC and HSSLC (Arts, science and Commerce) spoke at the function.
