Nagaland State Women Commission led by its chairperson Sano Vamozo met Nikhil Kumar, Governor of Nagaland at the Raj Bhavan Wednesday. The three member commission– chairperson Sano Vamozo and two other members Abeni TCK and Ellen Konyak had a threadbare discussion on various issues related to Women\u2019s rights including implementation of the contentious 33 % for the women in the various decision making bodies and also the increasing trend of violation to the rights of the women in the state. The Governor is learnt to have expressed his solidarity with the demand of the commission and assured for early implementation of the 33 % reservation for the women. The commission on the other hand expressed confidence on the Governor and his assurances to the various demands. Meanwhile the Governor had consented to grace the proposed state level seminar to be organized by the Nagaland State Women Commission on the theme \u201cAtrocity on Women\u201d on July 29 later this month. This was revealed by the members of women commission Abeni TCK after the meeting with the Governor. She also revealed that the commission had been trying to meet the Governor on various issues however due to time constrain; the same could not be fulfilled. Further, she revealed that today\u2019s meeting with the Governor, the commission members had briefed the latter on its functioning activities and discussed on general issues with regard to women and that no other specific issue or agenda was discussed at the meeting, she added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
