Tuli area joint council forum (TAJCF) Wednesday said it has decided not to accept temporary proposal by Nagaland pulp and paper company (NPPC) Ltd. Tuli to receive bamboo from interested suppliers for a period of five months for out sale purposes before the completion of its chipper house machine. According to forum president L. Mar Yaden it was resolved at a meeting held July 4 at its Tuli head office. The representing members deliberately considered the appeal of NPPC and several consultative meeting held with NGOs for bamboo receiving, Yaden said. The members present at the meeting cautioned why four long years have been wasted for reconstruction even after BIFR approval for revival of NPPC Co. Ltd Tuli on May 29, 2007 and as to why before the completion of chipper house machineries, bamboo should be received for five months for out sale purposes. Stating that they have wasted bamboo for twenty years and still then awaiting and preserving plantation area ready to supply to the Mill for its own consumption, the forum said reasons do not justify supplying Naga bamboo to other parts outside Nagaland. It expressed hope that NPPC Ltd Tuli , in the first stage, should complete and renovate the present chipper house machines and after that supply of bamboo should be invited. \u201cThen only, we, the area villages shall come forward to supply Bamboo to feed the mill,\u201d the forum president stated. Meanwhile, the forum has appealed appeal the NPPC Ltd Tuli to keep alert over bamboo rates quotation submitted by interested individuals and ask not to entertain it in common interest. The meeting also resolved to appeal NPPC Tuli to negotiate bamboo rates with TAJCF, as and when required to fulfill the best common interest of the people. <\/p>\n
