Dimapur district planning development board (DPDB) formed a five member committee headed by SDO (C) Dhansaripar Anoop Kinchi IAS as chairman for selection committee (Dimapur District) for nomination of national award for child welfare for the year 2011. This was announced at the DPDB meeting held on July 5 at the conference hall of deputy commissioner Maongwati Aier, Dimapur. Award would be given to 3 individuals and 5 institutions that have worked for the welfare of children for some years. The award carries cash prize of `3 lakh and a citation to each institution and `1 lakh and a citation to each individual. According to an official bulletin, the criteria for selection for institutions should be those that are not entirely government funded. The institution should have been in the field of child welfare for some years and should have good record and good performance. Individuals to be selected for the award should have worked for the cause of the children for years. Paid officers of the institution would not be eligible for selection. For further information, one may contact SDO (C) Dhansaripar Anoop Kinchi IAS, Chairman Dimapur District Selection Committee along with the bio-data of the individual and particulars of the institution from July 7-12 at DC\u2019s office Dimapur. Meanwhile, department of legal metrology & consumer protection (LMCP) presented the departmental activities and achievements in the district during the meet. The board also recommended for opening new institutions – Rastra Basha Hindi Shiksha Kendra (Hindi College) Chekiyi village and Montessori training school, Circular Road Dimapur. The meeting further discussed on creation and re-organization of RD Block in the district and entrusted road and bridges (PWD) to inspect Seitheke Basa approach road, where the only lifeline, hanging bridge over Chathe River had been washed away due to incessant rain. In this regard, the board recommended for inclusion in common pool fund (LADP) in the next financial year.
