Unidentified miscreants ransacked the office of Nagaland Development Outreach (NDO) located at the second floor of the NBCC commercial building on Wednesday morning and decamped with Rs 70,000 cash, two laptops, a digital camera, LPG cylinder and Tata Indicom data cards.
\n The break-in was discovered by the caretaker of the office around 8.45 a.m. Wednesday, when drawers and cupboards were found ransacked and papers and files scattered on floor. Besides ransacking seven rooms inside the office, excluding the store room, the miscreants also damaged five cupboards.
\nIt was suspected that the miscreants broke the basemen door to go up to the NDO office. NDO members suspected that the incident could have occurred Tuesday midnight while it was drizzling.
\nPolice and forensic team also went to the spot and conducted investigation though no arrest was made at the time of filing this report.
\nRev. Wati Longkumer director Naga Mission Movement, opined that the incident reflected the situation especially in Dimapur Director NDO, Dr. Hukashe Zhimomi confided that the building and stolen properties belonged to the church(NBCC) and though NDO was reluctant to file complaint, yet had to inform police for formality\u2019s sake and also to let the law take its own course.
\nA Computer Mart shop located at the first floor in the same building was robbed last Friday. According to the proprietor Computer Mart, Imsupong Nokdir, miscreants looted Rs. 2, 37, 276 cash, a laptop belonging to a customer, printer, LCD screen, head phone, mouse and other computer parts. He said an FIR was lodged last Friday and that the police was yet to nab the thieves. <\/p>\n
