{"id":108469,"date":"2016-05-21T23:15:09","date_gmt":"2016-05-21T23:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/05\/21\/educational-trust-officially-launch-in-dmu\/"},"modified":"2016-05-21T23:15:09","modified_gmt":"2016-05-21T23:15:09","slug":"educational-trust-officially-launch-in-dmu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/05\/21\/educational-trust-officially-launch-in-dmu\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Trust officially launch in Dmu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/IMGCIZENLRQGDSIVUKYL.jpg><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Okotsoe Educational Trust (OET) a charitable trust which has been founded solely to facilitate educational opportunities to promising individuals who are, otherwise at a disadvantage to pursue learning as well as to recognize and acknowledge the students excelling academically was officially launched here Saturday, at Studio, Ours, court junction, Dimapur with ADC Dimapur, Elizabeth Ngully as chief guest.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Speaking at the programme, chief guest in her speech appealed to the people of Nagaland to give more importance on building educational infrastructure in the state, for providing quality education to next generation and to make a strong and vibrant society in the days to come.<\/div>\n<div>She lauded the OET members for the initiative that they have taken to start such trust in Nagaland as the first among the villages in order to bring about positive change for the Okotsoe students.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Talking about educational system, Ngully mentioned that the government of India has already introduced the Right to Education (RTE) ACT 2009, which started in the year 2010, under the Article 21(A) of the Indian constitution making it mandatory for every child between the age of 6 to 14, compulsory education.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Speaking about the present scenario of educational system in Nagaland especially in government schools, Ngully observed that there were many anomalies and potholes without proper infrastructure, problem of irregularity of the teachers and posting of teachers etc. Ngully lamented that the people should give more importance on building educational infrastructure than religious activities.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;\u201cEducation being an important part of the society\u201d should be given priority so that it would enable an individual to progress in the long run, she said.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>She encouraged the OET by quoting \u201cEverything starts from a humble beginning\u201d and thereby she extended her support and cooperation for the success of the trust.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The programme followed induction of board of trustees for the tenure 2016-2018, which was elected during its meeting held on April 30, at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur. &nbsp;The team would be led by Steve Kithan as president, Ajanthung Shitiri as vice president, Adani Ngully as secretary along with five executive members, 11 auxiliary members, six advisors, three auditors and three other members. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>It may be mentioned that OET would mainly focus on HSLC passed students who have genuine interest to study, special privilege\/ consideration would be given to village based students, sponsorship to any student would be provide upto graduation level only. It would also provide financial assistance to beneficiaries to cover their school\/ college admission fees and monthly tuitions fees.
