A press release from DHS Mon said, shop owners were given chance to demonstrate on the iodine test kits after the district accounts manager, H. Rengma, explained and exhibited the kit. Earlier, Dr Akaba, deputy CMO, explained the purpose of the training and how important it was to sale only iodised salt. He also explained on some facts about the iodine deficiency disorders which lead to mental retardation, goitre, or thyroid diseases.
