{"id":108498,"date":"2018-04-18T00:47:41","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T00:47:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2018\/04\/18\/atmas-conduct-various-activities-across-nagaland-3\/"},"modified":"2018-04-18T00:47:41","modified_gmt":"2018-04-18T00:47:41","slug":"atmas-conduct-various-activities-across-nagaland-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2018\/04\/18\/atmas-conduct-various-activities-across-nagaland-3\/","title":{"rendered":"ATMAs conduct various activities across Nagaland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) conducted various activities for welfare of farmers across the stated during the month of March and April 2016.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">ATMA Akuhaito block: ATMA Akuhaito block, in collaboration with Satoi and Ghathashi block conducted a \u201cwithin state training for farmers\u201d at CIH, Medziphema on April 5.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">A press release from ATMA Akuhaito block stated that the resource persons included assistant horticulture specialist Dr. Moasosang and Lichamo of CIH, Medziphema.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">They visited citrus and strawberry plots and visited polyhouses and shade nets housing roses, gerbera, orchid, capsicum and citrus rootstocks. Vermi-compost technology of NADEP, which bear 7 tonnes per three harvests according to the resource person, could be achieved through incorporation of proper materials for the compost. A total of six (6) farmers, two from each block of Satoi, Akuhaito and Ghathashi attended the training accompanied by BTM Akuhaito Azungla and ATM Kaiho and Kakiho.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">ATMA Akuluto block: ATMA Akuluto block organised a within state farmers training for SARS (Yisemyong) and Integrated Farm School at Mopongchuket village on April 13, wherein 9 women farmers from 3 SHGs and 7 from ATMA and SDAO Akuluto staff participated.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">A press release from BTM, Aolemla Kichu, stated that Supongmar, Deputy Director, SARS, taught the importance of maintaining proper spacing and plant population control in the field. He, along with other officers of SARS, took the trainees to the field and explained the different systems of intercropping practices, maize cultivation, Vermicompost unit, banana, sugarcane cultivation and watershed management.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The trainees also visited an integrated farm at Mopongchuket village, bee keeping unit at Yisemyong, also flower and tomato cultivation and passion fruit nursery maintained in polyhouses by&nbsp; the department of Horticulture at Yisemyong where farm teacher and officers gave a tour on their respective farming activities.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The team was led by I. Lipok Jamir SDAO and BTT convener and accompanied by C. Amongla Jamir BTM Kubolong block Mokokchung.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">ATMA Chuchuyimlang block: ATMA Chuchuyimlang block, Mokokchung district conducted Block Farmers\u2019 Advisory Committee (BFAC) meeting at the block office Mokokchung on April 13.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">A press release from ATMA Chuchuyimlang block stated that ATMA, ATM, Lipoktila highlighted the agendas of the meeting. During the meeting, BFAC members shared the problems and grievances faced by the farmers. AO II, BTT convener, T Mayang also shared his views on how the ATMA team could help impart more extension technology knowledge among the farmers. Discussions on various farming activities like training, demonstration, capacity building, etc. to be undertaken at the block level were also taken up.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The members also gave positive feedbacks on how the farmers are benefitted through various trainings and demonstrations conducted at the block level by ATMA.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">The meeting was chaired by ATMA, ATM, Chubaienla while a prayer was pronounced by Longkong village BFAC member, Rongsenyari.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">BFAC members from different villages, BTT members from allied departments along with ATMA support staff and convener were present in the meeting.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">ATMA Chunlikha, Tseminyu: A one day programme on Kisan Gosthi was organized by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Chunlikha &amp; Tseminyu at New Terogvunyu on April 3. SDAO Tseminyu, Viwhetuo Thorie gave the welcome address to all the farmers and participating staff. He spoke about ATMA and its functions and the concept of Kisan Gosthi to encourage the farmers to bring their produce to the market and generate income. The programme was inaugurated by VAS Tseminyu, Gwazenlo Tep and chaired by BTM Tseminyu, Vibilie. The vote of thanks was delivered by ATM Chunlikha, Sinlo.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">ATMA Kobulong block broiler management: ATMA, Kobulong block Mokokchung conducted a training and demonstration on small stock broiler management at Longpa and Alongchen compound on April 14 with Dr. Aoyimsen Jamir, BTT convenor of the block, as the resource person. He trained the farmers on various areas of management such as construction and maintenance of chicken coops. The resource person also discussed with the farmers various bird diseases, brooding and demonstrated the details of administering medication to the birds should they need it. Free medicine such as Amixin, Cokiguard, Vitamins and mineral powder, provided by the dept of Vety&amp;AH, were distributed among the farmers along with broiler chicks and feeds were distributed by ATMA. In line with the program, two poultry farmers groups were mobilized. Altogether 22 farmers attended the program.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">ATMA Tuensang, Shamator block: ATMA Tuensang, Shamator block conducted a training and demonstration drive for farmers at Shamator and Sangphur villages on March 23 and 24 with ATM, Ketholezo Kipu, ATM, Kezhalesie, and ATM, Lanrhonthung Ezung as the resource persons. A press note from ATMA Tuensang Shamator block stated that the farmers were trained on vermin-composting, preparation of detergents and dish wash, cultivation practices of ginger, neem seed kernel extracts and organic methods of pest and disease management and they were shown practical demonstrations. A new FIG (Farmers Interest Group) known as Thulun group with 12 members was also formed at Sangphur village. Altogether 32 farmers attended the program. Detergent and dish-washers were given to the farmers after the program.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">ATMA Kobulong block citrus training: Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Kobulong block on April 6, conducted a training programme on rejuvenation of citrus for Yimchalu Orange Farmers\/Growers with AHO Imchalemla as the resource person.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Owing to a great decline of orange orchards, the training was aimed at imparting knowledge of rejuvenation systems and its cultivation.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Imchalemla spoke on various causes of citrus decline and also how to save a declining orchard.
