Chekrovol\u00fc Swuro, who did India proud as a member of the three women squad that won silver medal, at Turin, Italy, in the recurve event of the women\u2019s world championships; presented her medal to the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, the president of the Nagaland Olympic Association on Friday. \nAccording to an official bulletin, the befitting obeisance presentation was witnessed by Kiyaneilie Peseyie, Speaker NLA and other officials, at the chief minister\u2019s residential office.
\nThe chief minister expressed his genuine happiness over the high achievement that Chekrovol\u00fc has made, stating, \u201cIt is like the parents getting repaid by children with results and achievements\u201d, while Chekrovol\u00fc expressed her gratitude to the chief minister for his unflinching support.
\nThe chief minister keenly enquired about professional problems and facilities, and assured to explore avenues for improvements, setting up facilities, and disclosed his intention to meet and discuss programmes with Vijay Malhotra, MP, president of the Archery Federation of India, during visit to Delhi.
\nChekrovol\u00fc would be leaving for the United States in a few days time, to represent the country, and would return in August.
\nMeanwhile, Neiphiu Rio, announced a cash award of `3 lakh to Chekrovolu Swuro for her medal winning performance at the World Championships, stated an emailed statement issued by Abu Metha, press secretary to chief minister.
\nThe statement further construed that Chekrovolu\u2019s performance has also made her eligible to receive the cash incentive of `2 lakhs which is given to any Naga sportsperson winning silver medal at a World Championship\/World Cup event of a recognized Olympic event, as part of the State Sports Awards.
\nChekrovol\u00fc Swuro feted

\nDOWU: Dzulhami Outsiders\u2019 Welfare Union (DOWU) has congratulated Chekrovolu Swuro, daughter of Vepoyi Swuro of Dzulha Village, Phek, along with her teammates for receiving silver medals for India in the recently concluded 46th World Archery Championship, 2011 in Turin (Italy). The union also lauded her brother, Thupuvoyi Sw\u00fcro on being selected to the Indian National Archery Team. The union wished them both success in the upcoming events at the Archery World Cup Stage-3 in Ogden, USA in August, 2011 and Archery World Cup Stage-4 in Shanghai, China, September, 2011.
