The facility was funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>The minister, who is on his maiden visit to Nagaland, paid a visit to the Mithun Farm and interacted with farm officials and staff. The workers at the farm demonstrated how Mithun feeds were prepared and how the cattle were taken care of. Speaking at the programme following the inauguration, Dr.Varhdan disclosed that it was his long felt dream to visit Nagaland, adding it has finally come true. Expressing delight in his visit, the minister said he was \u201cgreeted with smiles\u201d since the moment he landed in the state.<\/div>\n<div>The pioneer of the polio eradication project in India, Dr. Harsh Vardhan gave a brief insight into how the almost impossible task became a reality although the project initially faced much opposition and was ridiculed from every angle. Dr Vardhan challenged the gathered scientists, leaders, parliamentarians and researchers to help the poor people with the help of science. He said, \u201cI have this strong conviction the science has the potential to solve many of the problems faced by our country even after 69 years of independence.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Stating that people in all the places were suffering from various social and health problems, he said those problems with the help of science could be resolved. Dr Vardhan described science, which had the ability to protect or improve the quality of human life, as life science or in a wider term, biotechnology. He was all praises for the \u2018rasgulla\u2019 that was made from the mithun\u2019s milk. He said Nagaland could become a popular figure across the globe through mithun products, especially the \u2018rasgulla\u2019.<\/div>\n<div>Earlier, a short speech was delivered by DBT, New Delhi, advisor-Dr T Madhan Mohan.<\/div>\n<div>Others present during visit included Transport minister- Paiwang Konyak, parliamentary secretary for (Housing) Er.
