{"id":110061,"date":"2016-04-19T00:47:44","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T00:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/04\/19\/nrb-seeks-state-govts-support\/"},"modified":"2016-04-19T00:47:44","modified_gmt":"2016-04-19T00:47:44","slug":"nrb-seeks-state-govts-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/04\/19\/nrb-seeks-state-govts-support\/","title":{"rendered":"NRB seeks state govt\u2019s support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Expressing concern that its existence was at stake as it has become difficult to survive, the state-owned Nagaland Rural Bank (NRB) has requested the state government to intervene and help sustain its growth.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Speaking at the meeting of administrative heads of departments (AHoDs) and heads of departments (HoDs) held at the secretariat conference hall here on Monday, NRB chairman C R Aiyar said non-payment of loan, even by government employees, and accumulated losses were the main problems faced by NRB.<\/div>\n<div>Nagaland Rural Bank &nbsp;chairman also informed that state government\u2019s share of Rs 2.5 crore in the state-owned NRB has become a non-performing asset, because of which dividends cannot be declared.<\/div>\n<div>Aiyar suggested that government employees and transactions be carried out through the state-owned bank and also insisted on linking of Aadhaar numbers with the bank accounts.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Nagaland Rural Bank &nbsp;chairman expressed the willingness to work in coordination with departments like agriculture, social welfare and industries and commerce to support their commercial activities.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Stating that the bank has 11 branches spread over five districts &#8212; Kohima, Wokha, Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Dimapur, the chairman said NRB was keen to extend its branches to the remaining six districts of the state.<\/div>\n<div>Further, NRB chairman encouraged the government employees to open the three social security schemes launched by the Prime Minister &#8212; Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Commenting on the presentation made be the chairman NRB, chief secretary Pankaj Kumar suggested that the government departments and employees operate accounts in state-owned trusted banks.<\/div>\n<div>The house also opined that Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities of the banks should also be verified while opening accounts.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Expressing concern that its existence was at stake as it has become difficult to survive, the state-owned Nagaland Rural Bank (NRB) has requested the state government to intervene and help sustain its growth.
