Barely three days after a tiger was killed near Medziphema after grievously injuring a person, fresh tiger paw print, believed to be of another tiger has been found in Medziphema village area on March 3.\nADC Medziphema told Nagaland Post that soon after information was received, Wildlife Warden Dimapur division and officials along with some activists rushed the spot to take stock of the situation. However, ADC said that the wildlife officials expressed their inability to track the tiger as there was no equipment available with them.
\nTaking serious note of the report, ADC was informed that it was imperative for the Forest department to constitute a committee to control such issue.
\nADC also requested the department to take emergency measures for safety of public and conservation of tiger. The team assured the district administration to immediately setup SOP.
\nIn the meantime, the Forest department has requested the administration to inform all neighbouring villages and areas including Niuland, Chumukedima and Dhansiripar that the tiger could possibly move in these areas. They have also appealed to the public to inform about any sightings and to be cautious for safety. It also noted that as per Wildlife act, killing an endangered animal is a non-bailable punishable offence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
