{"id":114308,"date":"2016-02-26T00:26:34","date_gmt":"2016-02-26T00:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/02\/26\/dr-shurhozelie-graces-sekrenyi-festival\/"},"modified":"2016-02-26T00:26:34","modified_gmt":"2016-02-26T00:26:34","slug":"dr-shurhozelie-graces-sekrenyi-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/02\/26\/dr-shurhozelie-graces-sekrenyi-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie graces Sekrenyi festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/PONCSKAQYWTIGEMWBOWR.jpg><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Sekrenyi festival organised by Angami Public Organization (APO) at Bamboo Hall, Kisama Thursday was graced by Naga People\u2019s Front (NPF) president, Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie Liezietsu.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Speaking at the festival, Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie highlighted the importance of knowing one\u2019s roots and studying or researching on the origin indigenous names of the tribes.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>While extending Sekrenyi greetings, Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie informed the gathering that Sekrenyi or Phousanyi meant \u201ccleansing of the soul\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>The NPF president also noted that traditional Naga society was governed by opinion of the people, especially in village democracy and added that today incorporating these values has become a \u201cmajor concern\u201d .&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Delivering welcome address, APO president, Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi highlighted the gathering on the attempt to unite all Naga Political Groups in Angami region and added that the current mission of APO was to reach a peaceful settlement without violence and bloodshed. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He also shared concerns over the \u201cviolence and enmity\u201d emerging in Tuensang and Kiphire and conveyed peace and goodwill in the name of Sekrenyi.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The gathering was enthralled through folk song by Keviseno Seleyi, invocation was pronounced by Keviyiekielie Liny\u00fc and vote of thanks was delivered by APO vice president, Pf\u00fckhrielie Peseyie who also chaired the programme.<\/div>\n<div>It may be mentioned that, Sekrenyi also known, as Phousanyi is a ten-day festival celebrated by Angamis tribe on February, which is a festival of purification with feasting and singing.
