{"id":114381,"date":"2016-07-17T00:04:21","date_gmt":"2016-07-17T00:04:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/07\/17\/assam-rifles-rebuts-psu-statement-on-wuzu-incident\/"},"modified":"2016-07-17T00:04:21","modified_gmt":"2016-07-17T00:04:21","slug":"assam-rifles-rebuts-psu-statement-on-wuzu-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/07\/17\/assam-rifles-rebuts-psu-statement-on-wuzu-incident\/","title":{"rendered":"Assam Rifles rebuts PSU statement on Wuzu incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Assam Rifles (AR) has \u201ccondemned\u201d the Pochury Students\u2019 Union (PSU) press statement on \u2018Wuzu firing incident\u2019 as \u201cfactually incorrect and inflammatory.\u201d&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>In a press note, PRO IGAR North, stated that PSU has \u201cincorrectly alleged that two minor children were brutally gunned down by 46 AR.\u201d PRO alleged that \u201cwhen AR convoy reached Wuzu village, it was \u201cdeliberately stopped by villagers totalling about 300 with the intention of snatching slain cadre\u2019s body on explicit instruction of NSCN (K) cadres.\u201d \u201cOn being forcibly stopped convoy came under heavy fire and two minor children died due to terrorist fire. In retaliation and self defence, Assam Rifles troops resorted to limited and controlled firing towards fleeing NSCN (K) cadres,\u201d PRO added. The PRO also informed that the incident was under judicial inquiry and the verdict was awaited. Further, PRO stated \u201cthe image of AR is being tarnished by such malicious statements.
