T. Stadium, Officer\u2019s Hill, Kohima, Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Asserting that most Naga children were born talented in art, Peseyie said education was not only about learning to read and write but the art of painting was also a part of education and therefore children must be encouraged to learn painting as they were in the stage of learning.<\/p>\n<p>He also congratulated the office bearers\u2019 of NCCW for organizing such programme for the welfare of children through which some children had received prizes at national level earlier. <\/p>\n<p>Congratulating the winners of the competition, Peseyie noted that for the past few years the state representatives missed out winning prizes at national level and said it could be due to lack of encouragement. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, releasing the souvenir to mark silver jubilee celebration of Nagaland Council for Child Welfare (NCCW), the minister expressed his hope that the souvenir would highlight the activities of NCCW during the past 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary to government of Nagaland, social welfare Kohima, T. Kiheto Sema who was the guest of honour in his brief note highlighted on the activities of NSCCW and said child right commission was introduced and that notifications would be issued within this month.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, special songs were presented by North Field School, Kohima and Creche Children of Poterlane and P. R Hill Kohima. <\/p>\n<p>The painting competition was divided into five categories namely yellow group (5-10 years) and red group (11-18 years) for differently abled children; green group (5-8 years), white group (9-12 years) and blue group (for 13-16 years) for general category.<\/p>\n<p>In yellow group category (differently abled), Sevenai from Cherry Blossoms School, Kohima and Songle Chang from Chandmari Higher Secondary School Kohima bagged the 1st and 2nd prize respectively while in the Red group category (differently abled), Ketovi from Cherry Blossoms School bagged the 1st prize.<\/p>\n<p>Winners for green group (general category), Vimesano Kennao of Vineyard school Kohima, Khozuo of Jo Foundation School Kohima and Mhonshan Kikon of G. Rio School Kohima bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Winners for white group (general category) were Venieta Medeo of Fernwood School Kohima, Rehemong H. Kips of Cherry Blossoms School Kohima and Kevizayie Yhome of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd position, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>While in Blue group (general category), Neir\u00fckr\u00fcnuo Mepfh\u00fco of Northfield School Kohima, Sashikaba Longkumer of Stella Higher Secondary School and Khriekethozo Ts\u00fckr\u00fc of Dainty Buds School were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. <\/p>\n<p>The winners were awarded with cash prizes and citations.
