Natural Nagas rescued a threatened baby stump tailed macaque (Macaca arctoides), from Noklak area after its mother was killed by hunters and brought it all the way to Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar for care and rehabilitation on July 25. <\/p>\n
The rescued baby was named \u201cGracy\u201d by the society and is presently being cared for in the Park\u2019s rescue centre. <\/p>\n
It may be mentioned that Natural Nagas is wildlife NGO working for preservation of wildlife and biodiversity in Nagaland. <\/p>\n
They are presently involved in awareness creation on conservation of wildlife diversity and documentation of indigenous wildlife diversity in the state. <\/p>\n
The society is working on documentation of elephants in Nagaland. They are also working on photo documentation of bird species of Nagaland. <\/p>\n
In the past the society actively worked to create awareness for protection of Amur Falcon especially in and around doyang reservoir area and are continuing with their good work. <\/p>\n
The society is also working with the Wildlife Trust of India who was involved in protection of Amur Falcons in Wokha area. <\/p>\n
Nagaland Zoological Park director, Tongpangzemba Ao has lauded Natural Nagas for its efforts in protecting wildlife in Nagaland. <\/p>\n
The society has been working closely with the department for conservation activities. Further many individuals as well as groups were also actively involved in conservation of our wildlife wealth. <\/p>\n
Through the help of such individuals and groups many species of wildlife have been rescued till date. The department has called upon citizens to have sympathy for wildlife and help save the wildlife resources. <\/p>\n
Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar is open to public throughout the week except on Mondays. It is located about 8 km from Dimapur along Dimapur Dansiripar Road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
