This was made known to hundreds of people gathered to observe the 8th ‘Naga Unification’ day, including leaders and representatives of various Naga civil organizations and Naga Political Groups (NPGs) at Khehoi designated camp, Dimapur on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, GPRN/NSCN ato kilonser, N. Kitovi Zhimomi reminded NSCN (I-M), that GPRN/NSCN decided to give thanks to the Almighty God for binging unity among the NGPs on this day, November 22. He said “if NSCN (I-M) think that it was trying to sabotage the framework agreement, they should ask the interlocutor, R.N. Ravi, who had clearly stated that he was working out for greater autonomy of the Nagas of Manipur”.

“If we want or not we have to say that black is black and sweet is sweet”, said Kitovi. He further asserted that the Framework Agreement had nothing to do with the Nagas of Nagaland, since NSCN (I-M) had “secretly revealed the contents to the Nagas of Manipur”.

Kitovi said from the initial stage at the meetings between all factions, initiated by Forum of Naga Reconciliation (FNR), NSCN (I-M) general secretary, Th. Muivah had always said inclusiveness was not possible.

But on August 3, 2015 suddenly like “lightening and thundering”, Muivah signed the peace accord, which was welcomed by four Nagas villages in Manipur, Kitovi added. Nagas of Manipur celebrated by lighting candles on the same night, however, Kitovi said Nagas of Nagaland were not informed and did not know about the signing. “So when Nagas of Nagaland asked on the contents to Muviah, he replied that Government of India has recognized the uniqueness of the Nagas,” he stated.

For the last two to three years, Government of India had also said that it had recognized the uniqueness of the Nagas, he said. On this he asked Muivah as to which uniqueness the government of India had recognized- 1929 memorandum to Simon Commission, August 14, 1947 declaration of Naga Independence or the 1951 Naga plebiscite?

Kitovi also took a dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at Dubai, where he declared that the political problem in Northeast had been peacefully resolved. But when asked about the signed agreement, PM replied that it was only a preamble, accord or framework, Kitovi said.

Kitovi said whether it was preamble or framework, the contents should be made known to the people. “But if it is black or white, big or small we don’t have to ask for it as they would not tell us. If they did not have concern for us why should we’, added Kitovi.

Kitovi further said that since Government of India had clearly stated the sovereignty and integration would not be possible, GPRN/NSCN along with NNC and FGN have to work out for a separate agenda for the Nagas of Nagaland.

He also questioned whether the demand for Naga integration was a unanimous decision of all the Nagas in Manipur or merely a stand taken by few individuals.

Earlier during the day, the ato kilonser also unfurled the flag and took salute of the Naga army. Speech of GPRN/NSCN chairman ‘Gen. (retd.)’ Khole Konyak was also read by the envoy to collective leadership, Alezo Venuh in his absentia.

Solidarity messages were delivered by president NNC, Kiumukam Yimchunger, president NNC (N/A), Z. Royim Yimchunger, FGN kilo kilonser, Puthai Lam and president NNC, Temjenyanger Aier.

Others who spoke on the occasion include– Nagaland GB federation president, L. Shalem Konyak, president PPC-cum-convener six tribes federating tribal unit of ENPO, Leisha Phom and president NTC, Lendinokdang Ao and peace activist, Niketu Iralu.

The programme began with an invocation by e-evangelist South East Asia (SEA), Rev. Dr. L. Tsanso. Highlights of the programme included– cultural presentation by Yimchunger troupe, Showuba old village, special numbers by Alobo Naga, Naga idol finalist 2010, Livika Swu and Naga idol finalist 2009, Venetolu Tureng and company.

GPRN/NSCN & NNC/FGN TO ADVOCATE ‘SPECIAL AGENDA’ FOR NAGAS OF NAGALAND GPRN/NSCN and NNC/FGN on Sunday affirmed to advocate a “comprehensive special agenda” for Nagas of Nagaland for a lasting solution to the decades old political issue.
