In this fast changing and competitive world, we need to excel in whatever we do because mediocrity or simply passing exams is not enough, he said. While reminding that the present generation was driven by knowledge, Zeliang urged the people to attain certain level of knowledge and skill to be a useful member of the society.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>It is a matter of pride that Nagaland has a high literacy rate compared to many states in India and this has been possible because of better awareness amongst the parents, and because of the many institutions available for everyone in the state and therefore the people should be thankful for this privilege, Zeliang added.<\/div>\n<div>While congratulating the meritorious students, Zeliang said that the state is happy and proud when bright students excel in their studies, irrespective of community, or the state they had come from. He &nbsp;said that recognition and felicitation of meritorious students is a must as it encourages students to do better in future, and also generate a healthy competitive spirit.<\/div>\n<div>He expressed his hope that the recognition would work as an incentive for them to do even better in the future.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>CM also acknowledged the contributions made by the Bhojpuri speaking community to the development of Nagaland in various fields.<\/div>\n<div>The chief guest was also accompanied by SI Jamir, advisor of urban development, Minister of Power Kipili Sangtam, minister of roads and bridges Y. Vikheho Chishi Swu, parliamentary secretary for Law &amp; Justice Jacob Zhimomi, parliamentary secretary Er.
