{"id":121484,"date":"2015-11-22T00:31:09","date_gmt":"2015-11-22T00:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2015\/11\/22\/wuzu-firing-incident-govt-sets-up-probe-panel\/"},"modified":"2015-11-22T00:31:09","modified_gmt":"2015-11-22T00:31:09","slug":"wuzu-firing-incident-govt-sets-up-probe-panel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2015\/11\/22\/wuzu-firing-incident-govt-sets-up-probe-panel\/","title":{"rendered":"Wuzu firing incident: Govt sets up probe panel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>A single-member inquiry commission has been set up by the Nagaland government to conduct an inquiry into the shooting incident at Wuzu village, under Phek district on July 16, 2015, in which two students were killed.<\/div>\n<div>According to a DIPR report, the state government has appointed Veprasa Nyekha, a retired district &amp; sessions judge, to head the panel i.e. \u201cWuzu Firing Incident Inquiry Commission\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>The commission has been constituted after the state government took a very serious view of the incident and was satisfied that it was a definite matter of public importance involving law and order in the State and the matter required a detail inquiry into the causes and circumstances leading to the incident and also to find out the persons responsible.<\/div>\n<div>Panel has been entrusted to make inquiry with respect to the following terms of reference: the causes and the source of firing which led to the death of two minor children and injury to one woman; the person(s) responsible for the firing and whether the incident could have been avoided.<\/div>\n<div>With its headquarters at Chumukedima, the panel has been directed to submit report to the state government within one month from the date of publication of this notification.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The incident occurred near Wuzu village on July 16 when 46 AR and 12 Para Commandos were returning from Avankhung area after encounter with NSCN (K) cadres.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A single-member inquiry commission has been set up by the Nagaland government to conduct an inquiry into the shooting incident at Wuzu village, under Phek district on July 16, 2015, in which two students were killed.
