It said the allegations levelled against the deceased cadres as a case of retaliatory action in self defence, “was fabricated statement” in order to justify the acts of terror and also to gain support of readers.
It said no law would ever legitimise the act of murdering humans and worst than human-animal relations after capture or arrest.
YAA said the bulled-riddled corpses were clear evidence that they were” murdered several times, after the original murder.” It also said that deceased neither attempted to escape nor intended to harm the Assam Rifles, since they were apprehended and unarmed at that point of time.
YAA said the action of the security forces was a clear violation of human rights as guaranteed by God and added, that the deceased were “killed in a sadistic and playful manner.” YAA said when someone killed an animal for fun, he might have the liberty, without hesitation or compassion to inflict any wound on the prey, even if it lay dead.
YAA further said the AR‘s claim of being “ a mistaken encounter” cannot justify the ghastly action and that it would be “unbecoming” if innocent and peace-loving personnel from various NPGs silently turn victims at the hands of Indian security forces.
YAA said writing in the newspapers or verbally claiming to be a mistaken identity might be easy but it would not bring back the deceased nor damage undone.
YAA accused the Assam Rifles of the “detesting trick” of placing weapons either upon or near the corpses and said this was an insult to the departed souls.
In fact, said YAA, the cadres were without arms when they were captured and it was like claiming that a dead man rose to obtain or snatch weapons after being actually killed.
YAA asserted, that the cease fire ground rules need to be respected but there could be no justification for the brutality of the AR in the incident since breach of the CFGR was not a mandate of the AR to go on rampant killing and disturbing the peaceful environment.
YAA reminded that it along with YTC have been assisting security agencies of the state and central governments in all ways and were called in to help whenever there was probable movement of anti-social elements or NPGs.
However, YAA said it did not know how many times would people in Nagaland would have to suffer under the pretext of NSCN(K). It reminded AR that students who were preparing for final examination and its actions have inflicted enough damage to the student community, who deserved a conducive environment for their examination.

Yimchungrü Akherü Arih Ako(YAA) expressed deep sadness over the firing incident in Leangkonger village that resulted in the “cold blooded murder of four persons from GPRN/NSCN faction”.
