{"id":12192,"date":"2011-06-16T22:49:47","date_gmt":"2011-06-16T22:49:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/06\/16\/pete-doherty-indirectly-blamed-for-talented-teenagers-death\/"},"modified":"2011-06-16T22:49:47","modified_gmt":"2011-06-16T22:49:47","slug":"pete-doherty-indirectly-blamed-for-talented-teenagers-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/06\/16\/pete-doherty-indirectly-blamed-for-talented-teenagers-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Pete Doherty indirectly blamed for talented teenager\u2019s death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div style=\"background:#b4acac; height:300px; width:403px; float:right; margin:5px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.nagalandpost.com\/newsimages\/PhotosCollection\/POFWMHNIZNNMSYGEBIMQ.jpg\" style=\" border: 1px solid #000\" \/>Last month, Pete Doherty was jailed for six months after being filmed taking crack cocaine.<\/div>\n<p> Freddy McConnel was a skilled guitarist, a table-tennis champion and a member of Mensa with an IQ of 144 but he began to \u201cidolise\u201d Doherty at 13. &nbsp;He began taking drugs but his parents thought he had beaten his habit only to learn after his death that he had begun injecting heroin in an attempt to ape the musician\u2019s lifestyle. &nbsp;His father is James McConnel, the composer, and his mother is Annie Tempest, the cartoonist whose work features in Country Life. &nbsp;Mr McConnel warned parents concerned that their children might suffer the same fate that there was little they could do but \u201cpray\u201d. &nbsp;He said: \u201cIn my view, Doherty is the lowest form of life on the planet\u201d. &nbsp;\u201cI don\u2019t blame him directly for killing my son but the attitude to drugs that was engendered in him came as a result of the ethos Doherty espouses\u201d. &nbsp;\u201cThere\u2019s nothing wrong with being an anti-hero but if it kills people either directly or indirectly it\u2019s just despicable\u201d. &nbsp;\u201cMy son idolised him and the only difference between them was that my son had more talent\u201d. &nbsp;\u201cHe lived his life according to Pete Doherty and even wore a hat like his.\u201d &nbsp;He added: \u201cIt\u2019s very difficult for parents because teenagers think they are invincible\u201d. &nbsp;\u201cWhat can they do? They have to pray.
