Acharya on Friday said in India everyone is equal and everyone has the right to practice their own religion. Addressing the 24th annual parents day at St. Mary\u2019s Montessori Hr Secondary School as the chief guest, Acharya further said \u201cthere is no second class citizen in India. We are a democratic nation and a secular country\u201d.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Stressing on the need to preserve indigenous languages, he said this exemplifies the unique diverse culture of India. \u201cIndigenous languages identify a community and every community must be proud to preserve their mother tongue,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<div>Acharya urged upon the gathering to learn languages of other neighboring countries, saying it would help in building a friendly relationship. In order to keep up with the competitive world, he encouraged the students to focus on education with skills. \u201cYour education, your degree, knowledge is not only for you but it\u2019s for your family, your village, your society, your country, if you get these feelings then the country will progress,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Though knowledge is important, Acharya at the same time said it was important to imbibe the cultural values. He further reiterated saying \u201ceducation is a social responsibility; it is a social duty and not a business to earn money\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>The Governor lauded Nagaland Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio\u2019s decision to adopt a village in Tuensang under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY). \u201cBeing an Angami himself, his adoption reflects unity and equal feeling among all countrymen,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div>On the occasion, the Governor announced five awards for the school from the next academic year, known as Governor\u2019s award: i. Rabindranath Tagore Award for best Cultural event, ii. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award for best Student in education section, iii. Dr. T. Ao award for best student in sports, iv. Dr. P. Shilu Ao Award for Student of the Year and Mother Teresa Award for Best Student in the special class section.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The school also paid tributes to its founder Administrator, late P.K Dutta<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland Governor, P.B.
