\nThousands of terrified fans saw the 63-year-old Bat Out of Hell singer collapse in the middle of his no 1 hit I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won\u2019t Do That), with many at the fearing he had suffered a heart attack.
\nBut the veteran singer clearly believed Heaven Can Wait, as he dusted himself off and finished the show despite lying unconscious on the floor for ten minutes surrounded by aides.
\nHe made light of the incident before performing classic tune Paradise by the Dashboard Light, saying: \u2018\u201cI f—-ing fainted. I have asthma, I can\u2019t breathe, and then\u2019.
\n\u2018Oh wait, I forgot. I got poked by a pin and bled half to death, and then I got slapped in the face and my tooth is loose.\u2019
\nHe then went on to finish his marathon concert at the Pittsburgh Trib Amphitheatre in Pennsylvania, which also featured hits such as Dead Ringer For Love and Two Out of Three Ain\u2019t Bad.
\nOne fan tweeted: \u2018Kept suckin\u2019 on his inhaler & singing his ass off.\u2019
\nHis publicist Maureen O\u2019Connor said: \u2018He hadn\u2019t been feeling well the past few days as his asthma had been bothering him\u2019.
\n\u2018He fainted onstage and got back up and did the rest of the show. We\u2019re happy he\u2019s ok.\u2019
\nMeat Loaf was later forced to cancel an appearance at a Cincinnati Reds stadium tonight so he could recover from his ordeal.
\nThe former Celebrity Apprentice contestant had been due to throw the first pitch at to honour a local woman suffering with a rare form of blood cancer.
\nThe rocker was invited by a friend of 51-year-old Jennifer Linnabary, who\u2019s battling mantle cell lymphoma, and listens to his music to help her deal with her struggles.
