And 99 aged eight and nine were taken in over the same period.<br \/>\nThere were another 1,900 sufferers between 10 and 15, according to NHS figures revealed under the Freedom of Information Act. Experts fear the shocking revelation is just the tip of the iceberg. <br \/>\nThey say the statistics show only those so ill they have to be admitted to hospital \u2013 meaning the problem could be far more widespread. The figures, released by NHS trusts around Britain, highlight the growing concern that young people, mainly girls, are obsessed with being thin.<br \/>\nSusan Ringwood, of eating disorder charity Beat, said many were trying to emulate superslim celebrities.
