{"id":124168,"date":"2015-10-17T22:56:49","date_gmt":"2015-10-17T22:56:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2015\/10\/17\/kohima-college-organizes-lecture-on-naga-writers\/"},"modified":"2015-10-17T22:56:49","modified_gmt":"2015-10-17T22:56:49","slug":"kohima-college-organizes-lecture-on-naga-writers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2015\/10\/17\/kohima-college-organizes-lecture-on-naga-writers\/","title":{"rendered":"Kohima College organizes lecture on \u2018Naga writers\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/IMIOWJWEINRZNSAMRWEN.jpg><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Department of English, Kohima College organized a lecture program \u201cNaga Writers\u201d at its campus, Saturday wherein State Women Commission chairperson, Dr. Temsula Ao appraised the faculty and students on the definition of oral tradition in Nagaland in its broad perspectives.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Dr. Temsula observed that Nagas lack tangible culture therefore she urged Nagas to maintain \u201cour\u201d intangible culture such as language, indigenous knowledge, culturally significant landscapes, folk stories which are inherited from the past generation. She said it should be maintained in the present and restored for future generation.<\/div>\n<div>Reciting one of her poems \u201cThe Old Story \u2013Teller\u201d, Dr. Temsula said Naga folktales and folklores may appear simple on the surface but has \u201cdeep inner meaning of great value\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>She asked the gathering to respect the \u201cwisdom of our folktales and folklores\u201d as it contains codes of moral behaviour and teaches how to live.
