The programme includes two courses including \u201cplant propagation\u201d and \u201cnursery management technology\u201d.<br \/>\nThe programme was launched by NU vice chancellor, Prof. B.K. Konwar in SASRD Auditorium in the presence of Director, SAMETI; Director, CIH; Dy. Director, State Horticulture Nursery; In charge, Bio Fertilizer Laboratory; Dean, SETAM; Dean, School of Humanities; Pro Vice Chancellor, Dean, Medziphema Campus, Faculty, staff &amp; students of SASRD.&nbsp; <br \/>\nLauding UGC for considering NU to implement the programme Prof. B.K. Konwar delivered genesis of the initiatives taken by the University.<br \/>\nHe also appreciated the efforts put in by the department of horticulture and SASRD, Medziphema Campus, for the preparation of the proposal and for implementing the programme in time.&nbsp; <br \/>\nHe also expressed gratitude to all the people who contributed positively towards University development for bringing good name for the University at National level.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Nodal Officer of the programme Prof. Akali Sema gave an account of the B.Voc. programme and mentioned that the programme was launched by the UGC on February 27, 2014 for skills development based higher education as part of college \/university education leading to B.Voc. degree with multiple entry and exit points.<br \/>\nDuring the entire programme, there will be two components i.e. general education (40%), which will be assessed at university level and skill component (60%) which will be assessed by sector skill council of India.&nbsp; <br \/>\nAkali Sema said that it is a challenging programme where cooperation and support will be required not only from the University but also from the State government, private sectors and other Institutions for the successful implementation of the new venture in the University.&nbsp; <br \/>\nEarlier, the programme was chaired by SASRD dean Prof. M Aleminla Ao, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. N.S.
