\nIn a statement, the WSYF president K.K. Zhimomi and general secretary M.Chishi said it was not against Beisumpuikam village erecting \u201ctraditional village gates or welcome gates\u201d but against the nature of gates with \u201cbamboo spikes, trenches and bunkers dug around the gates\u201d, calling it \u201chighly questionable and provocative.\u201d Asserting that other Naga tribes, particularly Sumis, passing through those gates were stopped and harassed by miscreants from Beisumpuikam village, the youth front said IRB personnel escorting people from Inavi village through Beisumpuikam was \u201ca living proof in itself.\u201d
\nMeanwhile, the WSYF also cautioned Zeliangrong Baudi (N) president K.Akang to desist from \u201csowing seeds of hatred and discord\u201d among the Naga people.
\n\u201cIt is a known fact that he is a Rongmei from Manipur who does not possess even an iota of knowledge about the historical background of the Nagas,\u201d they said and alleged that Akang arrived from Manipur recently and was settled at Samziuram village.
\n\u201cThe WSYF brand him as the mastermind of all communal tensions that has flared up of late between the western Sumis and Zeliangs,\u201d the signatories said, and asked him to go back to where he belonged and \u201cexecute his evil design on his own people back home.\u201d
\nThe youth front also claimed that besides two culprits under police custody the third accused has \u201celuded arrest at Beisumpuikam and has likely gone back to Manipur posing to be Nagas.\u201d
\n\u201cThey perpetrate criminal activities in Nagaland and escape to Manipur to take refuge,\u201d WSYF said and adeed that the \u201cin good time\u201d it would furnish \u201cphysical and material proofs\u201d to the responsible authorities in this regard.
\n\u201cThe WSYF asks K.Akang and the Beisumpuikam group to go back to Manipur and let the Naga people live in harmony as we have since time immemorial,\u201d the signatories stated.
\nNUVC appeals: Meanwhile, making an appeal to the government to be sincere in its assurance to remove the \u201cwar gates\u201d at Beisumpuikam village, the Naga United Village (NUVC), Intanki said any traditional and normal Naga village gates do not have bamboo spikes fixed to the gates and also with bunkers\/defence lines like the \u201cwelcome gates\u201d of Beisumpuikam village. \u201cPicture published in local dailies is evident to it,\u201d said NUVC chairman Sazo Zumvu and secretary C.Pili Pochury in a release.
\nStating that fortunately people passing through Beisumpuikam village were being escorted by IRB personnel from one end to other end of Beisumpuikam village, the NUVC asked \u201cbut how long will the IRB remain in the area to protect the innocent people.\u201d
\nClaiming that without IRB protection innocent villagers would not be able to pass through Beisumpuikam village, the NUVC urged government to remove the said gates in the interest of Naga people living in Naga United Village, Intanki.<\/p>\n
