Not charging for dropped calls or providing free calling minutes were the suggestions made by the regulator in a consultation paper for which it is seeking comments.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThe problem of call drops in the country appears to have aggravated with the passage of time,\u201d Trai said while issuing a `Consultation Paper on Compensation to the Consumers in the Event of Dropped Calls\u2019.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\u201cIn the past one year, consumers, at various fora, have raised the issue of call drops, complaining that their experience of making voice calls has deteriorated. They contend that they are unable to complete their conversations without their calls getting dropped during the course of a conversation.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;The consumers seem to be asking a simple question: Having paid for the service, why should I be denied a reasonable call quality?,\u201d Trai said.<\/div>\n<div>Earlier, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed concern over the growing incidence of call drops and had asked the telecom ministry to fix the issue promptly.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Relief may be on its way for the nagging call drops with telecom regulator Trai seeking suggestions for compensating customers for deficient mobile services.
