Assam Valley Baptist Mission (AVBM) a common Baptist Christian venture initiated by about 28 Baptist Churches in the year 2005, on Sunday celebrated its 6th foundation day at its Nakachari HQ near Mariani. \nThe Mission has a total of 49 churches as on date.The aim of this mission is to help in spiritual growth of all neighbouring Churches by uplifting true Christian living and to employ Evangelists for nurturing the already planted but sick Churches through the active partnership of any associations, Churches and individual volunteers with a great theme – \u201cGo therefore and make disciples of all Nations\u201d
\nThe function was chaired by its Secretary Sanjay Pantati. Rev.C. Temjen Pastor of Chungtiayimsen Baptist Church had graced the occasion as the speaker.
\nRev.C. Temjen in his speech praised \u201cAssam Valley Baptist Mission\u201d for initiating the great endeavour with very limited resources but which is a perfect mixture of churches and people together wanting to achieve some positive goal in God\u2019s ministry and hence it was a constructive approach with a new initiative within the participating Church.
\nNagaland Mission Movement has been actively associating with this Mission and currently sponsoring an evangelist since February 2008 to date. The basic salary for the evangelist is being supported by Rev. Dr. Lima Jamir, ETC and family from ETC Jorhat and additional incidental cost has been mobilized by the NMM.
\nEr Temsu Wathi Ao, President of this mission gave a short report of the last several years of the AVBM. He announced the upcoming events of the Mission for the current year which included AVBM Pastors refresher course to be conducted at Clark Theological College at Aolijen during September 12-15 this year, Church leaders training at Nakachari HQ to be sponsored by Kumlong Baptist Church and financial help extended to few Pastors of AVBM which was being sponsored through Kumlong Baptist Church Mokokchung.
\nHe acknowledged the salary for Assistant Evangelist Nimrudh Mondal which was also being sponsored from Kumlong Baptist Church.
\nThey have deputed Rev Simion Ebok of Sibsagar Baptist Association to partake in today\u2019s foundation day. In his speech Rev. Simion Ebok was very praiseful of AVBM activities and hoped that the existing cooperation between this mission and the association would go a long way in nurturing the Churches within and outside along the entire area.
\nInitially, the welcoming of guest was felicitated by Imsu Jamir, Advisor of AVBM. Several Pastors and church leaders from the AVBM constituent churches spoke about the mission and affirmed further commitment in furthering the mission\u2019s work. <\/p>\n
