The Aggrieved Teachers Association Nagaland (ATAN) has appealed to the government to honour the assurance given by chief minister Neiphiu Rio on April 7 as well as the approval of department verification committee (DVC) report on March 21 wherein the aggrieved teachers were approved for retention and continuation of service as their cases were found to be genuine by the DVC.<\/p>\n
ATAN convener, Vikato Swu and general secretary Limayanger in a press release informed to the Naga civil societies and other organisations \u201cwhose minds have been misled by the term \u2018bogus\u2019 coined by the SIT\u201d that the term bogus should not be applied to the aggrieved teachers who are \u201cgenuinely qualified\u201d and appointed by the department. ATAN also revealed that its members comprise of those who hold degrees from recognized universities, and for those interested in statistics, ATAN said it has few Ph. D degree holders, more than 50 post graduates, more than 500 graduates and the rest P.U.\/10+12 educational certificate holders.<\/p>\n
ATAN while stating that it does not support the cause of those in possession of fake educational certificates, said out of 84 terminated on possession of fake educational certificates, one particular teacher\u2019s termination has been revoked at the intervention of the High Court as her qualification was found to be genuine. In this regard, ATAN has asked individual \/groups\/associations doubting the credentials of the affected teachers to contact its office, at the same time appealed to all concerned to refrain from using the tag \u201cbogus\u201d while referring the affected teachers as it might invite \u201cdefamatory suit\u201d. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
