State home minister G. Kaito Aye while responding to Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC)\u2019s criticism on law and order situation in the state Monday questioned the latter\u2019s role as a constructive opposition. <\/p>\n
In a statement, G. Kaito while welcoming constructive criticism from the opposition said if the opposition started playing \u201cdestructive role\u201d and could not digest the \u201cgood works and realities\u201d in the state, then its role as an opposition was under question.<\/p>\n
He also said that one should be \u201cvery cautious\u201d while criticizing Naga political related issues and regretted that NPCC had the habit of mixing up with the Naga political issue with law and order problem. <\/p>\n
On the allegation that the home minister had taken a \u201cna\u00efve approach\u201d to the factional clashes in the state, Kaito said NPCC still failed to realize that the state government had \u201cnothing to do\u201d with the factional clashes as the factions were engaged in cease-fires with the government of India and all these clashes have to be dealt with the cease-fire monitoring mechanism headed by the chairman appointed by the government of India.<\/p>\n
With regard to the illegal taxation issue, the home minister said the state government was \u201cequally concerned\u201d for the scourge and has been appreciating the movement launched by ACAUT.

\nHe reiterated that as a responsible government, NPF-led DAN has been discharging its responsible duties maintaining law and order and protecting the lives of the civilians. Kaito lamented that NPCC could not appreciate the realities in the state. <\/p>\n
Taking exception to terming his statement as \u201cinsult to the memory of innocent civilians killed or injured in public places\u201d by NPCC, Kaito said such \u201cunmindful and blind allegation\u201d hurled against his response to NPCC statement would not be appreciated. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
