NVCO president Kezhokhoto Savi, who is also ACAUT Nagaland (legal cell) convenor, referred to a Supreme Court ruling in 2014, which he said held that in the absence of any advertisement or selection process, the appointment of the person was not protected and could be validly terminated. He said this while speaking as resource person at the Yimchungru Youth Seminar, organised by Western Yimchungru Students’ Union in collaboration with Yimchungru Students’ Union Kohima at DUDA Guest House, Kohima on August 29. Speaking on the topic “the impact of RTI in Nagaland”, Savi said every individual or group was fighting against backdoor appointments after obtaining relevant documents through the Right to Information Act, 2005(RTI). He therefore said filing of RTI applications has to continue by the citizens, student unions etc. Stating that regularization of services of the backdoor appointments was improper, he said the state government remained adamant and the silence on the part of the state government encouraged more backdoor appointments and corruption.
