{"id":127175,"date":"2015-07-31T00:52:52","date_gmt":"2015-07-31T00:52:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2015\/07\/31\/curb-all-illegal-gate-collection-zcci\/"},"modified":"2015-07-31T00:52:52","modified_gmt":"2015-07-31T00:52:52","slug":"curb-all-illegal-gate-collection-zcci","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2015\/07\/31\/curb-all-illegal-gate-collection-zcci\/","title":{"rendered":"Curb all illegal gate collection: ZCCI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI) has drawn the attention of the DGP Nagaland, Excise Commissioner, Home Commissioner and all authorities to the illegal activities of various elements involved in blatant collection of taxes from truck drivers and urged upon them to curb such activities.&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div>Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries &nbsp;discussed the issue at a three-hour marathon meeting with truck drivers after receiving several complaints from them that trucks and other commercial vehicles plying between Jorhat-Mariani to Zunheboto via Mokokchung district had to pay various taxes at collection gates all along the route.<\/div>\n<div>The drivers alleged that each of them had to pay more than Rs.3000 per trip to Zunheboto along the Jorhat-Mariani and Mokokchung route.<\/div>\n<div>ZCCI expressed extreme anguish on learning that all Zunheboto-bound truck and commercial vehicles were being extorted by Nagaland Police, Excise personnel and Taxes department.<\/div>\n<div>It said Rs.500 per truck per trip was collected at Mokokchung and another Rs.500 per truck in Zunheboto by different Naga Political Groups (NPGs).<\/div>\n<div>ZCCI reminded that the Gauhati High Court had issued a ban on all forms of taxations\/collections at various check gates. It termed it as a mockery, that uniformed police and excise personnel were themselves involved in such activities. ZCCI media cell urged upon the state authorities to curb these illegal activities in the interest of the welfare and well being of the common Naga public and citizens of Zunheboto district in particular.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Taxation at various check gates by groups\/organization are listed below<\/span><\/div>\n<div>1. Nagaland Gate Police Check gate- Rs 300 monthly<\/div>\n<div>2. Police check gate (Mkg Distt)- Rs. 50 daily per truck load\/trip<\/div>\n<div>3. Sales Tax- Rs. 200 per load\/trip daily<\/div>\n<div>4. Excise department- Rs. 100 daily per trip\/load<\/div>\n<div>5. New Camp police check gate- Rs. 200 daily per trip\/load<\/div>\n<div>6. NPGs\/underground Mkg district\/region- Rs 500 daily per load\/trip<\/div>\n<div>7. NPGs Zbto dist\/S\u00fcmi Region- Rs. 500 daily per trip\/load.
