Asserting that governance was not a \u201cchild\u2019s play\u201d, the NPCC today said DAN Cabinet\u2019s decisions and review decisions on various subjects in recent times were \u201cchildish without application of mind.\u201d
\nNPCC media said, in a statement, it proved beyond doubt the incompetence of the DAN government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe recent decision and review decision on bogus teachers appointment scam is one glaring example,\u201d the Congress\u2019 media cell said.
\nIt recalled that on March 23, 2011, the DAN Cabinet had approved the retention and regularization of 277 graduate teachers, 792 undergraduate teachers and another 60 graduate teachers (under doubtful category who were not charge sheeted), under SSA under plan.<\/p>\n
Reiterating that orders of the cabinet decision were published in all the local dailies on July 20, 2011, the NPCC said within a week\u2019s time the State Cabinet retracted from its earlier decision and decided to keep in abeyance the retention and regularization order following hue and cries from almost all tribal student organizations.
\nThe media cell said \u201cquite amusingly\u201d the DAN legislators backed the Cabinet decision on suspension of retention and regularization order.
\nPointing out that DAN legislators at its consultative meeting also decided to go for thorough of investigation; \u201cin other words, another round of harassment,\u201d the NPCC asked \u201cWhere\u2019s the sign of effective governance they promised?\u201d<\/p>\n
The Congress alleged that DAN government has no political will to resolve the impasse \u201cfor the simple reason that some of its Cabinet members were deeply involved in the scam.\u201d
\nClaiming that angle of investigations had covered the bureaucratic side only, the NPCC said thereby making them the scapegoats.
\nIt pointed out that as long as DAN government attempted to cover the politicians, no tangible solution to the impasse could be expected.
\n\u201cNeedless to say, the scam has strings attached to it in which the DAN government is just helpless,\u201d the media cell asserted.<\/p>\n
It went on to ask for how long would the DAN government subject the genuine teachers to harassment and jeopardize the future of the innocent students?\u201d the NPCC added that since the year 2002, the genuine teachers and the innocent students have been put to test.
\nAlleging that DAN government has ruined a generation of students, who may become social liability for no fault of theirs, the media cell said DAN government would be held entirely responsible for such unpleasant future.<\/p>\n
The NPCC further demanded that government bring to an end the impasse within a time-frame so as to relieve the affected genuine teachers and also put a stop to the uncertainty of thousands of innocent students.
\n\u201cThe colossal financial loss incurred on salaries should be curbed from further escalation,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n
