Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard\u2019s great-grandson Jamie DeWolf has claimed that the controversial religion was bound to destroy Tom Cruise\u2019s marriage with Katie Holmes.<\/p>\n

In an interview with CBS, he called Scientology a \u201cwell-funded psychotic beast\u201d and described his great-grandfather as nothing more than a \u201clying con-man\u201d who peddled \u201cpseudoscience.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old slam poet said that Scientology destroyed his own family and undoubtedly led to Holmes\u2019 divorce from Cruise.<\/p>\n

He is the grandson of Hubbard\u2019s eldest son, who changed his name after he fell out with his father over his teachings.
\nHe said that his mother never talked about Hubbard or Scientology.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt destroyed and devoured both her grandfather and her father,\u201d News.com.au quoted him as saying.
\nThe spoken word comedian said that \u201cCruise is another victim of the mirage that my great grandfather created around himself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s as deep as you can possibly get into Scientology. He\u2019s probably going to die a Scientologist. I don\u2019t believe he could leave even if he wanted to,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Dewolf also said that Holmes had been lucky to get out – \u201cthe more she saw behind the curtain the more horrified that she probably was.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Church of Scientology rejected DeWolf\u2019s claims, saying: \u201cDespite his public representations and self-promotion, Mr. DeWolf is not knowledgeable about the Church of Scientology or its founder.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
