{"id":12846,"date":"2011-08-20T02:19:35","date_gmt":"2011-08-20T02:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/08\/20\/one-arrested-for-rape-murder\/"},"modified":"2011-08-20T02:19:35","modified_gmt":"2011-08-20T02:19:35","slug":"one-arrested-for-rape-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/08\/20\/one-arrested-for-rape-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"One arrested for rape, murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.nagalandpost.com\/newsimages\/PhotosCollection\/BNCXJCUMXCJFLRZPEXZI.jpg\" style=\" border: 1px solid #000; float:right; \nmargin:5px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In a major break through, Dimapur police on Thursday arrested a person involved in the alleged rape and murder of a 21-year old girl, Avino,&nbsp; in Kirha village, at Airpor Junction&nbsp; Dimapur on July 21. <br \/>\nThe&nbsp;&nbsp; SIT team headed by SDPO Dimapur, Shouka Kakheto,OC Diphupar ASI Yawao Konyak, the IO of the case and ASI Inaka Kinimi got the breakthrough following recovery of the victim\u2019s mobile handset.&nbsp; Police were able to track down the accused, identified as Bekuto aka Beto Zhimomi (21) son of Khehoto Zhimomi on August 18&nbsp; and resident of&nbsp; 3 \u00bd mile, Dimapur. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;PRO and Addl SP Dimapur said contrary to earlier suspicions, the victim had not been gang-raped. It was stated that&nbsp; both Beto and the victim(Avino) were neighbors and on the night of July 21 Beto who was in an inebriated state, visited Avino and both spent more than two hours. <br \/>\nAccording to police, the cause of the crime was jealously as Beto suspected&nbsp; Avino of having an affair with another boy. In a fit&nbsp; of anger, Beto hit Avino on the head with a wooden plank and fled from the scene along with cash and the mobile handset found in the victim\u2019s room.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Preliminarily investigations&nbsp; did not yield any clue despite police recording statements of various suspects, family members, friends and neighbors.
