Appreciating the efforts made by the Chakhesang Students\u2019 Union (CSU) and Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) over the rampant recruitment in police department, the Kyong Students Union (KSU) has said it also shared the same concern regarding the backdoor appointments in every government departments and establishments.<\/div>\n
In a press release, KSU president Amos Odyuo and general secretary T Phyobemo Kikon, however, said it was imperative, particularly on the part of a student organisation, to focus beyond those appointments\/recruitments made in the month of April and May 2015 in police department.<\/div>\n
Stressing that all government departments should be brought within the ambit of public scrutiny, the union said it was \u201cabsurd\u201d that CSU and NPCC emphasized only those appointments\/recruitments made within April and May 2015 in the police department.<\/div>\n
Kyong Students Union claimed that backdoor appointments had been rampant for years in every department particularly health & family welfare, rural development, social welfare, road and bridges etc.<\/div>\n
Pointing out that backdoor appointment cannot be \u201cruled out\u201d, KSU, however, said questioning the legitimacy of the recruitment made within two months period was \u201cnot fully justified\u201d.<\/div>\n
Union said the motive behind selectively targeting the action of home minister with regard to the said recruitment was not understood.<\/div>\n
Stating that equality called for removal of undue opportunities, KSU said government policy of reservation was also \u201cdue for serious reconsideration by deserving those tribes who are already at par with the advanced tribes\u201d and \u201cthe menace\u201d of this practice needed to be \u201cseriously scrutinized\u201d.<\/div>\n
Meanwhile, KSU asserted that if that recruitment in the month of April and May 2015 in Police Department was considered as \u201cnull and void\u201d then it shall amount to discrimination.<\/div>\n
KSU said it also has \u201caccumulated grievances\u201d since the inception of statehood and would be shared in due course of time. <\/div>\n
 SKK lauds: All Sumi Student\u2019s Union (SKK) has extended appreciation to Chakhesang Students\u2019 Union (CSU) for taking a \u201cbold step\u201d on the back door appointments in the police department amounting to 259 posts within the span of two months, saying it was \u201chuge incursion and disregard\u201d to the students.<\/div>\n
In a press release, SKK president Holuvi Chophy said presently the state was facing acute shortage of employment opportunity with no avenue in other sector.<\/div>\n
Affirming that it would not \u201cremain silent\u201d and would ensure that common opportunity of Nagaland was not \u201cmanipulated by a single minister\u201d, the union appealed to the chief minister to cancel all those 259 back door appointments. SKK called for proper opportunity of participation through open recruitment examination without any delay. <\/div>\n
SKK underlined that it would initiate any form of resentment if the demand was not fulfilled.<\/div>\n
