{"id":12899,"date":"2017-12-03T00:01:12","date_gmt":"2017-12-03T00:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/12\/03\/various-organizations-condemn-november-30-assault-on-doctor\/"},"modified":"2017-12-03T00:01:12","modified_gmt":"2017-12-03T00:01:12","slug":"various-organizations-condemn-november-30-assault-on-doctor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/12\/03\/various-organizations-condemn-november-30-assault-on-doctor\/","title":{"rendered":"Various Organizations condemn November 30 assault on doctor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Various organizations have condemned the November 30 incident wherein one Dr. Angukato Achumi was assaulted by some non-Nagas.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>PVC: Padum Pukhuri Village Council has said, through a press release signed by chairman, Vitoka Katty and secretary Sanjay Mech that, in connection with the case which happened on the night on November 30, at block-4, Padum Pukhuri Village, out of 17 construction labourers who were involved in the crime, only 6 were apprehended by the public. They were handed over to the police after thorough interrogation. Since all of them were without ILP and illegal immigrants, the council ordered them to leave Dimapur Jurisdiction, and if they were found in within Dimapur again, the council will not be held responsible for them, the release said.<\/div>\n<div>The council warned landowners and building construction owners under its jurisdiction, that outside labourers without proper documents\/ILP will not be allowed in the village. They also said that labourers must be registered under the village council, otherwise, in the case of any untoward incidents, the owners will be held fully responsible.<\/div>\n<div>CNTC: Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), UT-1 NPGN\/NNC (Non-Accord) and Us\u00fctomi Students\u2019 Union (USU), in separate press statements, have flayed December 1 incident wherein Dr. Angukato Achumi, a resident of Pudampukhri was allegedly assaulted by group of non-Nagas. In this connection Dimapur police has arrested six persons.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp; CNTC through its media cell while condemning the incident said Dr Angukato was assaulted by some \u201cmigrant workers\u201d and added that \u201csome Nagas were also said to be involved\u201d. Stating that such incidents have become frequent each passing day, CNTC said \u201cmere condemnations in the newspapers and social medias time and again\u201d would not have any effect and bear any fruit unless all \u201cNagas come together in unison and root out this menace from the core at the earliest\u201d.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>CNTC said state government in coordination with civil societies should initiate as proper mechanism at the earliest.<\/div>\n<div>The council also stated that Nagas have to take their share of the blame for \u201cprotecting and sheltering these migrant workers for their cheap labour\u201d which CNTC said has invited many unwanted elements and incidents to take place.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Stating that incidents like these should have now open the eyes of the Nagas, CNTC said \u201cNagas should start taking drastic steps otherwise the grave danger lurking at our very near future is imminent\u201d.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Further, CNTC has warned those Nagas involved in the incident of stern action and has advised everyone to keep away from such acts of \u201cpatronizing and protecting these outsiders for personal interests\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>SDA: Sumi Doctor\u2019s Association (SDA) during its emergency meeting held on December 2, vehemently condemned the inhuman assault meted out to Dr. Angukato Achumi on November 30.<\/div>\n<div>In a press note, SDA sessional president, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi and sessional secretary, Dr. Kheshika Yeptho said that the association was appalled at the manner in which the \u201cillegal Bangladeshi immigrants boldly manhandled a Naga citizen even after he revealed his identity as a doctor.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>SDA appealed to the law enforcing agency to arrest all the culprits at the earliest and also ensure that that the perpetrators are not bailed out under any condition. It warned that whosoever tries to bail out the culprits would be doping so at their own risk.<\/div>\n<div>SDA also appealed all likeminded to condemn the inhuman act and also appealed to the government to \u201csystematically root out the menace of IBIs who have stolen our livelihood&#8230;\u201d<\/div>\n<div>UUF: Usutomi Urban Forum (UUF) has also condemned the brutal act meted out to Dr. Angukato Achumi by a group of non-Nagas at Pudampukhri.<\/div>\n<div>A press note signed by UUF secretary, Hukato T. Swu appealed all right thinking Naga citizens to condemn the barbaric act against the Naga people allegedly by the \u201cillegal Bangladeshi immigrants.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>The forum appealed to the law enforcing agencies to nab the remaining culprits at the earliest and punish as per the law. The forum also prayed for the speedy recovery of the victim.<\/div>\n<div>UUDA: Usutomi union Dimapur Area (UUDA) has strongly condemned the incident at padumpukhuri, where one of its bonafide members, Dr. Angukato Z. Achumi was beaten to a state of unconsciousness by suspected illegal immigrants. A condemnation note signed by UUDA chairman Viitolu Chophy and secretary Kihoshe Assumi, said that Dr. Angukato was tortured physically and mentally even after revealing his identity. The union urged all Nagas to stand together and not safe-guard the accused because \u201ctoday\u2019s incident maybe tomorrow someone else\u201d. The union said that they would fight till the end for justice and urged the law enforcing agencies not to be influenced by outside forces.<\/div>\n<div>UT-1 NPGN\/NNC: UT-1 NPGN\/NNC (Non-Accord) while condemning the physical assault on Dr. Angukato, said that such \u201chigh crimes by IBIs\u201d towards Nagas were becoming most evident.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Condemning the act, NPGN\/NNC (NA) CAO, Kiyelho Wokhami, stated that a peace loving Naga, Dr. Angukato, was \u201cvictimised and tortured beyond expectation\u201d.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>UT-1 NPGN government has requested the law enforcement agencies and administration to be more vigilant in controlling the \u201cillegal immigrants\u201d so that society was protected.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Urging the department concern not to grant bail to perpetrators, UT-1 NPGN cautioned that any individual or groups concerned found involved in bailing out or supporting such cases would be strictly viewed by it. UT-1 NPGN also asked all Nagas to come together and raise voice to the concerned authority in flushing out the \u201cillegal immigrants\u201d while also asserting that such kind of unwarranted act committed against Nagas have to be condemned by one and all.<\/div>\n<div>USU: Us\u00fctomi Students\u2019 Union (USU) has vehemently condemned the barbaric act meted out towards its member Dr. Angukato Achumi by a group of \u201cillegal immigrants\u201d.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>In a condemnation note, USU president, Toino Awomi and general secretary, Aboka Awomi, stated that the ordeal in which the victim was beaten and tied up mercilessly could have resulted to death.<\/div>\n<div>Stating that such act was unacceptable to any form of justification by the assaulters, the union expressed anguish over the inhumane act in which the victim, a respectable and a law abiding citizen, had to suffer physically, mentally and emotionally.
