He was later found by Dimapur Police flying squad No.92 who were patrolling Blue Hill Station and rushed to Nikos Hospital where he is being treated. Police have arrested one of the main assaulters and were on the look out of the remaining member of the trader-gang. It was learnt that the assaulters robbed the victim off three mobile phones and a cheque of Rs.1 lakh (Oriental Life Insurance).<\/span><\/div>\n<div>On Wednesday day night, Sanyi went to Murgipatti as usual, to negotiate prices of cabbages on behalf of Phek farmers since consignments used to arrived after 11 p.m. owing to traffic regulations in Kohima. When the traders immediately began to weigh the cabbages from Zhavame even without settling the price, Sanyi protested and told them that the price had to be first negotiated before weighing could take place.<\/div>\n<div>At this, the traders present then attacked Sanyi from all sides with sticks and punches, even using a wooden stool which caused serious internal and external injuries. He was left semi-conscious and bleeding till Police mobile patrol reached the spot.<\/div>\n<div>The victim is a professional businessman-cum-farmer actively involved with several NGOs, treasurer of Nagaland Timber Traders Union(NTTU), president Farmers Wing NPF Phek, chairman Razeba Sub-Marketing Committee, vice president Agricultural Product Marketing Committee Phek and president Phek District Timber Association.<\/div>\n<div>The assault incident, also highlighted the market system in Dimapur where the business and trading communities have formed various syndicates. Many local farmers have been subjected to such monopoly compelled to sell at very low rates.
