{"id":12971,"date":"2017-08-23T00:19:09","date_gmt":"2017-08-23T00:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2017\/08\/23\/rd-deptt-organisations-condemn-threat-and-intimidation-on-officer\/"},"modified":"2017-08-23T00:19:09","modified_gmt":"2017-08-23T00:19:09","slug":"rd-deptt-organisations-condemn-threat-and-intimidation-on-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2017\/08\/23\/rd-deptt-organisations-condemn-threat-and-intimidation-on-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"RD deptt, organisations condemn threat and intimidation on officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Department of Rural Development (RD) and different organisations have condemned August 21 incident wherein four unidentified miscreants, reportedly armed, barged into the residence of Kelei Zeliang, secretary to chief minister &amp; RD, at Lerie Chazou colony, Kohima and threatened the members present in the house with dire consequences.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>RD officers &amp; staff: Officers and Staff of RD along with all the 1238 VDBs of the state has condemned the incident and said that the miscreants have violated the premises of the secretary and cowardly threatened his family.<\/div>\n<div>In a condemnation note, director RD, Metsubo Jamir stated that such acts of intimidation and threat would be unacceptable to anyone in the Naga Society. It extended \u201cprayer support\u201d to Kelei Zeliang and also prayed that the culprits are brought to justice.<\/div>\n<div>ZPON: Zeliang Peoples\u2019 Organisation, Nagaland (ZPON) in a condemnation note through its general secretary, Kerangdumtta and press secretary, Paubingai Rentta stated that it was deeply disturbed by such acts carried out by anti-social elements targeting officers from a particular community. ZPON stated that if there are issues to be addressed, the same may be taken up with the competent authority through proper channel for redressal. ZPON further urged government and law enforcing agencies to take up sou-motu cases and book the miscreants under relevant section of the law at the earliest. ZPON further stated that it would not sit and watch when its members are intimidated and threatened inside their own homes without rhymes or reasons.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>ZBK: &nbsp; Zeliangrong Baudi Kohima (ZBK) in a condemnation note by president Kairinpibou and general secretary, Kenlum Hemang has requested administration and police to apprehend the miscreants immediately and act as per the law of the land. ZBK also called upon all right thinking citizens to vehemently condemn such act of violence in society and to live in peace and harmony.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;ZBN: Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) in a condemnation note through its media cell stated that it was shocked to see such undesirable situation created against its bonafide member. It said such uncivilized act of \u201cthreatening life was unacceptable in the Naga culture and should be stoutly condemned by every peace loving and right thinking citizens. ZBN also appealed the law enforcing agency to book the culprit involved at the earliest and give a befitting punishment as per the law.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>SZOK: Southern Zeme Organization, Kohima (SZOK) in a condemnation note by chairman, Amos Pame has expressed shock and stated that it was disheartened that such elements still exist in this modern generation. SZOK has urged the concerned authority to take this matter seriously and bring the culprit to book at the earliest and award befitting punishment as per the law of the land. SZOK also has strongly condemned such coward and goondaism act which is an alien to the Naga society and appeal those responsible to refrain from such senseless act in future.<\/div>\n<div>NRDSA: Nagaland Rural Development Service Association (NRDSA) ia condemnation note by NRDSA president, K. Neibou Sekhose and general secretary, N. Kupto Achumi stated that this dastardly demonstration of intimidation and threat to life was an act of cowardice and unacceptable and intolerable in &nbsp;the society. While conveying its support and solidarity to the secretary, NRDSA also requested the concerned authority to identify and book the culprits at the earliest and bring justice.<\/div>\n<div>NSVBDA: Nagaland State VDB Association (NSVDBA) in a condemnation note by president, Toshoshe Awomi and general secretary, Manthungo Kikon has expressed shock at the incident. NSVDBA has demanded that the \u201cboss\u201d should declare \u201chis identity before the general public to avoid further scapegoat\u201d. NSVDB as the apex body of all 1238 villages in Nagaland has appealed the law enforcement agency to immediately identify and book the culprits and award befitting punishment and urged village authorities not \u201cto protect those coward miscreants\u201d. It further urged the RD department to impose sanctions to those villages if found giving shelter to such miscreants as it tarnished the image of society at large.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>NLSF: Nagaland Law Students\u2019 Federation in a condemnation note by speaker, Nungshimeren Jamir and info &amp; publicity secretary, Roland Zeliang has stated that such senseless act should not be practice by any good citizens of the state when the people yearn for peace and tranquillity. It said such act should be condemned by one and all. The federation also appealed to law enforcing agency to look into the matter seriously and give befitting punishment to such act.<\/div>\n<div>ZSUN: Zeliangrong Students\u2019 Union Nagaland (ZSUN) in a condemnation note by ZSUN president, Asappe Zeliang has maintained that such action was unbecoming of a civilized modern world. The union has called upon all right thinking citizens to condemn the act and urged the authority to book the culprit at the earliest and bring justice.<\/div>\n<div>AZSU AMN: All Zeliangrong Students\u2019 Union, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AZSU AMN) in a condemnation note by its president, Nchaheing and finance secretary, Elungbam termed the act as barbaric and uncivilised in the modern society and shame to the Naga society. The union has urged the law enforcing agencies to investigate and bring the culprits to book at the earliest.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>PDVDBA: Phek District VDB Association (PDVDBA) in a condemnation note by president, Khusuzo Khamo and general secretary, Shiekhoto Resuh stated that secretary of Rural Development and secretary to chief minister, Kelei Zeliang had been doing commendable service to the rural villagers and deserved appreciation from all quarters instead of being threatened. PDVDBA while stating that such act had no place in civilised society also urged upon all right thinking citizen to condemn such acts in the strongest term.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>ZOAN: Zeliang Officer\u2019s Association Nagaland (ZOAN) in a condemnation note by general secretary Dr. Hiabe Zeliang has called upon all the right thinking citizens to vehemently condemn such act of violence.
