The 7th foundation day of Kohima old age home was observed on August 18 at its premises.
\nSpeaking on the occasion as chief guest, president Angami Miapf\u00fc Mech\u00fc Krotho, Salhoutuono Kruse expressed profound happiness on having a place like old age home where needy old people of the state have a place to rest and feel secure.<\/p>\n
Kruse said that old age was the \u201cafternoon part of life\u201d where they have become wiser and closer to God.
\n\u201cIf physical strength and beauty belong to youth, then spiritual strength and beauty belong to the old\u201d said Kruse.<\/p>\n
She also said that Angami Miapf\u00fc Mech\u00fc Krotho stood behind the good works and dedication of Neithonuo Liegise and her team under the aegis of Good Samaritian Women Society and urged everyone to be torch bearers in doing good works and to continue to spark God\u2019s compassion in life.<\/p>\n
Also speaking on the occasion, director of social welfare, Khevito Sema said the department acknowledged the works of the home and added that unlike the past, the department as the nodal department, has adopted a new policy to emphasis on project which was doing well by genuine NGOs in respective fields.
\nHe also assured the home that the department would help in all possible means and work together soon.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, P.S. Angami on behalf of Nagaland Seniors Citizen Forum encouraged and greeted the elders.
\nToshinaro Naga Idol \u20182008\u2019 and Youth of Mission CRC Kohima enlightened the elders by presenting special numbers.
\nLater, a district welfare officer Kohima, distributed old age pension to the beneficiaries which was followed by free medical checkup by 16th Assam Rifles.<\/p>\n
