Dimapur police in the wee hours of Tuesday arrested a gang of autorickshaw drivers for allegedly robbing a passenger, who hired an autorickshaw from railway station to proceed to Sewak. According to police, the victim identified as one Udavir Singh, an employee of Sewak, who arrived at Dimapur by train was taken around the town in the autorickshaw by the driver and his accomplice instead of taking him to his destination.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the way, the two other accomplices were informed by them about their passenger who came in another autorickshaw and four of them stopped at PWD junction and robbed him of his wallet containing about Rs. 20, 000 in cash, ID card, ATM card, his luggage and other belongings,\u201d police said. <\/p>\n
On being informed about the robbery at West PS, the duty personnel immediately swung into action and managed to arrest three accused identified as Raju Gowla (25), so of late Bipul Gowla, resident of power house colony, Nagarjan, Akiba Sangtam (30), son of late Tsithrese, resident of Signal Bosti and Vishal Munda (25), son of Hiralal Munda, resident of Oriya colony, Walford. Police said efforts were on to arrest the fourth accused, whose identity was yet to be established. Some of the belongings were recovered and returned to the owner, police said, adding two autorickshaw bearing R.No.NL 07F 2429 and NL 07F 4493 used during the crime was also seized, and a case registered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
