Historical circumstances and ground reality leading to Assam-Nagaland boundary disputes should be addressed constitutionally, legally and respecting the tradition, stated associated professor, communication and media studies, Clark Theological College, Dr. L. Imsutoshi Jamir while reading out an excerpt from the book \u201cChallenges of Land Development in Nagaland\u201d.  <\/span><\/div>\n
The book written by several writers and edited by principal Clark Theological College and Professor Reverend Dr. Taketemjen and published by Clark Centre for Peace and Research and Action which was released Wednesday by Deputy Commissioner, Kesony\u00fc Yhome, IAS revealed that border dispute and problem was not only a land issue but a \u201ccultural issue\u201d. <\/div>\n
Several challenges faced by the state and Northeast region linked with the issue of land was also mentioned in the book. In the later part of the book, it revealed that the purpose of the book was not necessarily to provide readymade answers to the questions associated with the land, but a humble attempt to sensitize the people about the issue which we are struggling with. <\/div>\n
It made it clear to the readers that the some comments, arguments and observations in the book were \u201cvery sharp and emotional\u201d based on people\u2019s experience. <\/div>\n
The book has been divided into six sections, comprising of 22 articles, three opinion polls conducted and a field research contributed by academicians, bureaucrats, senior citizens, and practitioners of peace and student of Clark Theological College.  <\/div>\n
Earlier, Kesony\u00fc Yhome lauding professor Taketemjen for bringing out the book said that the issues highlighted in the publication has become a critical point of reference for discussion and needed a healthy debate. <\/div>\n
He said various burning topics mentioned in the publication were crucial as the issue would continue for long time. However, he suggested that the writers have taken a right step in creating space to allow the people to come together on a platform, to discuss and deliberate on these very critical issues. <\/div>\n
Yhome further suggested that the task on issues, based on land use, should not be left alone to bureaucrats and government alone, but should be taken up by every shareholders and enlightened society to bring a peaceful and \u201cimaginable\u201d solution.  <\/div>\n
The programme was chaired by Editor The Morung Express, Dr. Akum Longchari, dedicatory prayer was said by associate pastor, DABA, Reverend Maong Lemtur.  <\/div>\n
